Karma = work / effects of action
Karma of Karma Yoga = WORK.
(1)          Goal of mankind = Knowledge not pleasure         
a.       Pleasure and pain both are teachers
b.       Misery better teacher
c.       Character: Aggregate of tendencies caused by pleasure + pain
d.      Karma creates Character

(2)          Knowledge is inherent in man
a.       All knowledge is in the mind
b.       Uncover to reveal
c.       No covering = Omniscient, self-realized

(3)          We are all doing KARMA all the time..!

(4)          Character of a man
a.       watch him perform most common action
b.       A great man- Character is great always wherever he is. Ex: Pavhari Baba, Thakur

(5)          Karma – most tremendous power one has to deal with
a.       We are what we are now because of our past actions
b.       Realized/ Omniscient Man –
                                                               i.      a center attracting all the powers of the universe to himself
                                                             ii.      fusing them
                                                           iii.      sending it back in big currents
                                                           iv.      Power of drawing in and throwing out: - Will power
c.       Character causes Will (Power) to act

(6)          Manifestation of Will of Man = All work around us
a.       Incarnations
                                                               i.      ~ Huge waves, made up of small waves
                                                             ii.      Gathered power over ages and ages finally culminating into Jesus or Buddha
b.       Other examples: Lata Mangeshkar (famous singer), Olympians,
c.       One life example: Roger Federer – how he became a gentleman; controlled his wrath

(7)          Law of KARMA:
a.       we get what we deserve
                                                               i.      One cannot get anything unless he earns it
                                                             ii.      One can have a library of books but can read only what he deserves
                                                           iii.      We are = what we wished ourselves to be
b.       How to Work?
                                                               i.      scientifically / cleverly
1.       Outgoing energy with UNSELFISH motive –
a.       With RESTRAINT + PATIENCE -
                                                                                                                                       i.      Mighty Will power
                                                                                                                                     ii.      Self-control
                                                                                                                                   iii.      Build Character
                                                             ii.      Without fritting away energies obtain greatest result
1.       Outgoing energy with SELFISH motive –
a.       frits away energy
b.       immoral and wicked
c.       weak + powerless
                                                           iii.      Wake up the soul
(8)          Selfish motives of Work:
a.       Fame
b.       Money
c.       Power
d.       Enjoyment (heaven)
e.       Name
f.        Penance
(9)          Unselfish Work:
a.       Work for work’s sake
b.       For the good of all
c.       Unselfish:
                                                               i.      more rewarding but requires Patience
                                                             ii.      promotes good Health
                                                           iii.      Highest ideal: love + truth + unselfishness
(10)      Conclusion:
a.       All work to be revered
b.       Start with selfish motive
c.       Aim for higher motives
d.       Graduate to unselfish motive
                                                               i.      Work we have the right, not to the fruits (BG Chp2 #47)
e.       Why? Freedom from bondage
f.        Become Ideal Man:
                                                               i.      Ideal of Karma Yoga
                                                             ii.      BG Chp4 #18 – Midst of greatest silence and solitude finds the intensest activity and in the midst of intensest activity finds the silence and solitude of desert
                                                           iii.      Perfectly Unselfish Man
1.       All concentrated power
2.       All knowledge manifested.
